Jazba (pronounced juhz-baa) is The University of Texas' newest co-ed fusion dance team. Jazba means "passion" and we strive to celebrate just that through dance, service, and community. By incorporating various styles of dance from around the world, we represent cross-cultural unity.
What is "fusion"?
Fusion doesn't just mean that we perform various styles of dance successively. By synthesizing music from different parts of the world, we create choreography that merges the essence of two completely different dance forms. We look forward to exploring styles such as Bollywood, Hip-Hop, Latin American, Contemporary/Jazz, Classical Indian, Bellydance, as well as Indian Folk dances.
Alongside dancing, Jazba is also passionate about service. We plan to grow as individuals by getting involved with the greater Austin, as well as the Global community.
While dancing in practices, competing, and serving the community, we will be forming long-lasting relationships that support our lifelong endeavors.
