Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) has a long history of hands on education that is founded in the motto"Do. Learn. Succeed.". Wentworth strives to nurture the builders, dreamers, doers, and makers of tomorrow. While the women at WIT only make up 21% of the population, they also strive to make their mark on the world. The WIT chapter of Society of Women Engineers (SWE) has created a network to help students professionally, socially, academically, and emotionally. The organization has been honored with the Student Organization of the Year Award in 2013 and 2015 at the Wentworth Annual Awards dinner.

Wentworth SWE hosts an Anual Students Who Engineer Magic day for Girl Scouts and participates in Set in The City, a day for Boston area high school students to explore the opportunities in STEM. At weekly meetings, the organization holds seminars relating to professional development and guides discussions about issues women face in the STEM workforce.
