The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Chapter of AIChE prides itself in connecting students to the opportunities offered outside of college. This consists of bringing in outside companies for information sessions allowing our members to understand what this company offers. We also bring in academic professors to come talk about the research they are conducting. This sheds light on the possible pathway down graduate school and academic research. In addition to this we host fun social events to engage professors and students outside the classroom. As a club we also send a few members to the Regional Conference held each year in the Spring. Inside our club we have a Chemical Engineering Car Club that creates a car that is powered by chemical reactions. The club enters a car every year and we have a great group of smart students go to the conference as a part of the team to compete. This club is great because it allows students to apply what they learned in the classroom to a friendly competition.
