ACM@MC is a 501(c)(3) non-for-profit student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery. Founded in 1947, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is widely recognized as the premier membership organization for computing professionals, delivering resources that advance computing as a science and a profession; enable professional development; and promote policies and research that benefit society. Our chapter came about in 2013 after recognizing a lack of a collaborative community in our Computer Science department. Soon after gaining our official chapter, we began to draw in members from all over the STEM fields who have not only helped our organization grow in numbers, but grow as engineers, computer scientists, hackers, and creative thinkers. We continue to challenge our members to develop innovative projects, expand the breadth of their knowledge in CS and Engineering, and to help others grow.
